Message from the Chief Executive Officer The PLD Group of Companies embarked on the provision of logistic services from a very humble beginning in 1991. Initially, services provided were only to complement the spill-over from the local shipping and forwarding agents.
After a short spell of only four years and with the acquired experience, the Group increased its presence into a full fledged and licenced shipping and forwarding agent. The operations expanded into direct provision of shipping and forwarding services which included integrated door-to-door and one-stop service centre for all logistics industry. Integrated land transport services for all inland transportation, depot container consolidation, logistic distribution service for both up and down stream areas were also launched with the acquisition of a fleet of transportation machinery and equipment. At the same time, trucking and movement services including long hauler, heavy lift removal and multimodal transportation services were also provided.
To-date, the Group is a principal providing trans-shipment or feeder vessel services for all Sarawak inland waterways and operations within domestic and international regions. Total logistic management services are also provided for all shipping and freight forwarding agencies including that of insurance services supporting both local and global business partners.
The Group is an Associate and Corporate member for Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK), a member of the Sarawak Shipping Association and a member of the Sarawak Forwarding Agencies Association.
With the experience acquired, coupled with the support of professional personnel and business associates and partners, PLD Group is poised to have a share of the multi-million dollar market within the nation and ASEAN region.
